Free Winter Trails Day at Swedetown Recreation Area this Weekend
CALUMET — Come out for the annual Winter Trails Day on Sunday, Feb. 4 at 4 p.m. at the Swedetown Trails. Cross Country Sports and the Swedetown Trails Club are co-sponsoring this event, providing free all-day passes to the trails.
Attendees can find free equipment demos to test out like cross country skis, snowshoes and snow bikes. You can check out the free demos from the Swedetown Chalet. The Swedetown system boast 29 km of cross-country trails in winter. The Chalet is known for being a welcoming starting point for trail adventures – located right in the heart of Calumet.
With current trail conditions – Swedetown says fat-tire biking may be the most suitable this weekend. It will plan to have skiing and snowshoeing assuming conditions allow. Check on the group’s Facebook page for more information.
