Join us for an afternoon of poetry! Beverly Matherne, 2023 and 2024 U.P. Poet Laureate, will read from her latest book, “Love Potions, Teas, Incantations” (published by Harvard Square Press), a collection of ekphrastic poems and short fiction.
Professor Emerita of English at Northern Michigan University, Matherne served as director of the Master of Fine Arts program in creative writing and was also poetry editor of NMU’s nationally known Passages North literary magazine. She has published widely in many poetry reviews and collections of poetry.
The reading will take place outside (or on the porch if the weather is uncooperative) at Grandpa’s Barn in Copper Harbor (behind the one-room schoolhouse). Books will be available for purchase and signing.
