Santa visited South Range on Sunday afternoon to collect Christmas lists, light the community Christmas tree, and pass out goodie bags for the children.
South Range traditionally hosts a Christmas celebration inside their community hall, but for the second year now, they’ve arranged for outdoor festivities in light of the COVID-19 pandemic.
At five o’clock, the sunset lit up the sky behind the community hall, but Santa Claus’ seat was empty and the Christmas tree was still dark.
Santa arrived just after nightfall on South Range’s fire truck.
Already having collected one Christmas list in his right hand, Santa prepared himself to light up South Range’s still-dark tree.
With a flourish, Santa raised his arms and the Christmas tree glittered into festive colors.
During the festivities, Bruce Rundman played Christmas-themed music from the top of the community hall stairs.
Once the tree was lit, Santa settled into his chair for a visit with each of the kids who came to see him.
