Winter Solstice with KLT

  • Lily Creek Nature Area 19815 Wildwood Rd Hancock, MI, 49930 United States (map)

Come join us for our annual Winter Solstice luminary hike and celebration of the longest night of the year!

We will have our usual cookies and hot tea and bonfire by the banks of the lovely Lily Creek.

And this year we encourage families to come early to follow the pages of the newly published book Winter a Solstice Story written by a local author Kelsey Gross. You can meet her at the clearing of the creek! She will have other winter stories to read and you can ask her questions about being an author or writing a book! The celebration will continue on into the evening. Embrace the beauty of the dark as well as the coming back of the light.

The lit hike is a half mile to the creek. Dress warm and have headlamp just in case!

Directions

Take Lake Annie to its end at Salo Road. Go straight or "left" onto Salo Road and in 1.6 miles turn right onto Wildwood Road, parking is on the right as is the trailhead which will be lit.
