Copper Harbor — The Keweenaw Outdoor Recreation Coalition (KORC) is excited to announce their third annual KORC Keweenaw Clean-Up and Community Cookout. This all-ages volunteer event is scheduled for Saturday, May 20 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. and will take place in Copper Harbor at Donny Kilpela Memorial Park. Together we will focus on cleaning up county roads, trails, and beaches throughout Keweenaw County. At 1 p.m. we will celebrate a successful clean-up with a community cookout with outdoor refreshments and food in the park courtesy of The Mariner North. Volunteers will be entered into a raffle with prizes donated by local organizations and businesses. Raffle prizes will be drawn during the cookout. Come help kickoff spring, steward our beautiful Keweenaw, and catch up with other community members and volunteers at this fun event!

The Keweenaw Outdoor Recreation Coalition (KORC), formed in 2019, brings together many groups and individuals with one shared goal: to protect the Keweenaw's vast landscapes for everyone, forever.

Whether our members bike, off-road, snowmobile, hunt, fish, hike, camp, paddle, pick berries, birdwatch, or much more, we work collectively to help to make this vision a reality.

KORC volunteer efforts and financial support have helped with a significant 160-acre acquisition project helping protect public access to High Rock Bay and the Keweenaw Point Trail, amenities at High Rock, repairs to the West Schlatter Lake and Mandan Roads, Keweenaw County Search and Rescue program support, CopperDog 150 sponsorship and volunteering, Allouez Township Ice Rink and Eagle Harbor Township Parks and Recreation support, support to our local clubs, and much more.

Membership and more information is available at www.keweenawoutdoorrecreation.org.
