HOUGHTON — Experience the Upper Peninsula’s Fall foliage with a 5K color tour this October and join the Keweenaw Young Professionals (KYP) for the annual Keweenaw Color Run you won’t soon forget!
This event is scheduled for Saturday, Oct. 7, 2023, at the newly developed Houghton Waterfront Pier in Downtown Houghton. Registration and check-in are from 8 to 9:15 a.m. and the event runs from 9:30 - 11 a.m. The race will be followed by the Second Annual Houghton Fall Fest starting at 11 a.m. at the Houghton Waterfront Pier.
Picture it: the sights and sounds of the perfect fall morning. The air is crispy, and you’re soaking up the views as you stroll along the Portage Canal. Dust off your running shoes, order your official Keweenaw Color Run shirt, and get ready for double the color this year! The Keweenaw Color Run Event is a 5K event where participants will be blasted head to toe in different colored powers at various color stations along the route. Not only will you get more colorful throughout the race, but each person will be provided with a color packet to kick off the race in full-color style!
“We are very excited to continue our tradition of hosting the Keweenaw Color Run event for the community.” says Savanna Rivest, KYP Board Treasurer. “I’ve helped plan many races, and the Color Run event is always full of energy! We can't wait to build upon that energy as we kick off Houghton Fall Fest.”
Take the office or family for a fun run along the Canal with KYP's Keweenaw Color Run. Tickets are $20 for adults, $15 for students, $8 for children ages 6-14, and free for children under five years old. Add on the official Keweenaw Color Run shirt for $5, or wear your own white tee. T-shirts are limited and will be available in adult sizes only; tickets can be purchased at tinyurl.com/KeweenawColorRun.
