Third annual Copper Shores Community-Wide Picnic coming to Ahmeek

Copper Shores Community Health Foundation is excited to announce the third annual Community-Wide Picnic will take place at Gabriel Chopp Park in Ahmeek on Sunday, July 28, 2024.

“We’ve had active engagement with many volunteers from this community who are trying to make improvements that will benefit all citizens and visitors,” said Kevin Store, CEO/president of Copper Shores. “It is going to be incredibly fun and gratifying to be able to celebrate those folks’ achievements for the community in the newly renovated park.”

Copper Shores has supported and worked with many community members in Ahmeek over the last 10 years. In recent years, Copper Shores has helped fund park improvements that meet ADA requirements, supported the purchase of off-road fire and rescue equipment for the volunteer fire department, supplied AEDs to key locations in the area, and worked closely with the fire department during the annual #GivingTuesday campaign.

The event will include food, activities, a nonprofit vendor expo, raffle prizes and more. All activities, games, and lunch, are free and open to the public with activities going from noon to 3 p.m. at the Gabriel Chopp Park. A full schedule and list of vendors, raffle prizes and activities will be announced as the event gets closer.

Five Finds at the 2024 Copper Shores Community-Wide Picnic:

  1. Free food and refreshments

    • Copper Shores is serving up local favorites: pasties from the Mohawk Superette and subs from Sundae at the Park, along with refreshments, including water and sports drinks. Tables can be found under one of the park’s many new pavilions (that we funded last year!), providing shade and comfort for those enjoying the food.

  2. Fun Activities for All Ages

    • Attend the picnic and find raffle prizes, bounce houses, games, face painting and more. There is sure to be something for everyone in the family to enjoy!

  3. Support Local Organizations

    • Visit the nonprofit organization expo and get to know the local resources that are available to community members. This is the perfect opportunity to find a helping hand for a variety of issues like food insecurity, health and recreation.

  4. Raffle Prizes

    • You can get raffle tickets by visiting the nonprofit organization expo and chatting with vendors. Take your tickets over to the Copper Shores tent for a chance to win lawn games, camping gear, a new bike, a 120 qt cooler and more.

  5. Pop-up Farmers Market

    • Find the Pop-up Farmers Market and taste the local difference! For one time only, these farmers will be selling their goods outside the normal Farmers Market lineup.

Copper Shores has great pride in all it has accomplished, but it wouldn’t be possible without support from community members like you! As a thank you for years of support, come on out to the park for a relaxing and fun day, free of charge.
