GALLERY: Tour Da Yoop, Eh summits Brockway Mountain

EAGLE HARBOR TOWNSHIP — The Keweenaw’s breathtaking landscapes witnessed an incredible display of human determination as Tour Da Yoop, Eh cyclists scaled Brockway Mountain around noon. Under sunny skies, high 70s, and with bald eagles soaring overhead, cyclists peddled their way to the top of Brockway Mountain, many smiling along the way.

The Brockway loop signifies the halfway point on a remarkable 10-day cycling tour around the Yoop’s perimeter. It starts in Grand Marais and rides through towns like Houghton, Marquette, Escanaba and Sault Ste. Marie. The hills on Brockway reach steep grades of over 12% - making for a difficult ride and slowing riders to 4-5 miles per hour.

Tour Da Yoop, Eh raises funds for a childhood cancer program and the total ride is 1,200 miles. The riders embark toward Marquette Wednesday morning.
